mufflers

I contacted FPA and the guy wants me to call him on Monday. I have a friend who has fpa's in his 67 fairlane and they do look nice. I will be needing a good 3" straight through muffler when I do my full 3" exhaust. Believe it or not, this will be my 4th exhaust sytem on my 68 in the 4 years I have owned it. I might go back to the shelby style exhaust that will exit before the rear wheels. Imagine how wicked that would sound coming out 3". I have been looking at Flowmaster Outlaws and Dynatechs on summit. I like this one in particular due to the size.

Let me know if you have any experience with these are similar muffles. I'm thinking these are similar to glasspacks. I don't want glasspacks as I had them with the last shelby type exhaust system and didn't care for the sound.

Another option would be auger style mufflers that slide into a 3" pipe... they have a WICKED sound to them and offer excellent hp gains from what I am told... and they're CHEAP... wouldnt even look like you had mufflers...

KK Pony was running something like that (higher quality) for a while. They sounded absolutely wicked. You might still be able to find the sound clip on his website (

I spent a while looking for sound clips for these augers last night with no luck. I will try that site, thanks!
