StangFix... New look.... new features.
« on: August, 01, 2009, 05:50:12 PM »
The astute among you (maybe even Mark by now) have probably noticed something different.

I have been struggling with a "look" that's clean, neat and yet fairly simple. Some of you were on line while changes were happening and your feedback was considered during the process.
I am pretty happy with the current theme. It's a mixture of the old format with all new css. I think it has evolved to be pretty easy to look at.

Still working on the shoutbox. There is a new expanded profile called "Ultimate Profile" which give you some more profile options and you can make a buddy list. You can give only buddies access to your ultimate profile if you like.

You'll notice some new options in the post box as well.

If you run across a readability issue somewhere on the site please let me know. Maybe a screenshot if you can. I hope I was able to be sure all the input boxes have good contrast, but I might have missed something.

Thanks,

Sluggo

While I'm not exactly a web designer, I have to complain about the color scheme.  I just don't like it.  It's not super easy to read, and I liked the old scheme.  I also think the menu bar looks rather plain.  I think buttons or boxes or something would look a little smoother.

Just some constructive criticism:)

Actually I find the colors very easy to get along with.  Looks great to me.

I have to agree.  The gray background reduces the contrast of the text.  I actually preferred the original scheme.  Oh well, it's not like I have I vote that counts, does it?

Thanks everyone,

While some may have preferred the old look, it was the default theme for SMF (the forum software) and used by every upstart out there.

Not acceptable for StangFix any longer.

This theme is unique. I found one that I liked the basic color scheme and modified about 50% of the css by trial and error. Some of you were on line while it was happening and know there was some ugly moments :rofl
