Thanks guys. It'll probably wait until global warming kicks in. Al Gore is full of SH!T. It's 18 deg right. I need to make an alternator bracket and hopefully fire her up this weekend on the engine run stand.

That is one nice power plant!  I do hope you personally gapped the rings yourself this time.  :omg

Me and a buddy did. It took a long time but I know it's right. There were no second guesses. If I questioned anything, we didn't continue until we found the correct answers. I can honestly say I feel really good about this one.

We fired the engine yesterday. I had a problem with the Demon I purchased used so we put my friends Holley 670 on and it purred like a liger. She starts right up and runs like a champ. Only one water leak at the lower radiator hose. Next is setting up the hydraulic throwout bearing. But before I do that I have to dig and dig and dig the car out to pull the toploader. I am also going to manual steering so I can do that easier with the engine out. Dave, notice I fixed the FPA headers? Also got lucky with the fabrication of an alternator bracket. I had to change everything because I went with an electric water pump.

Congrats Mike on the success.  I wish I could say the same thing with my new engine.  What tranny are you putting in there?  Staying with the toploader or going overdrive?

Thanks Darreld. I hope your leak is an easy fix. I'm staying with the toploader. I really don't drive it to Anchorage but maybe once or twice a year. Mostly terrorizing Wasilla so I can't justify going 5 or 6 speed right now.

Thanks! In case you want to see it run click on the link. The video quality is poor but I'm loading a better on now from another camera. This was the second start within 30 minutes. It sounds really nice but the camera picks up all the metallic sounds.
