I'd like to be in on a shirt too.

i would be willing to see what kind of price the place my company uses for our uniforms would charge.  But i would need to know how many colors if we did a silk screen (our logo only uses 3 colors), or maybe just a transfer like the one dale got.

A digital transfer type of shirt will be cheaper than screenprinting but probably not as long lasting.

Kat, are you talking about the background with the rifle and helmet or the image of Sam, or both?
If it's just the background, maybe you and I can team up with our skills and punch something out......thoughts?

Anything from this pic can't be reproduced. Rest should be fair game to use for printing. The Fallen Soldier Memorial (rifle w/ helmet) and the two flags could be used though as long as it isn't taken from that photograph.

Know who owns the pic? They might allow use for a non-profit use to help the family. Wouldn't hurt to ask.

With the artistic abilities here I'm sure it could be drawn, sketched, shopped, etc.  The one thing I would like, if we're taking it to this level, is to not have the "snapshot transfer" look if possible.  Since we're going above the typical picture transfer I think it would be cool to have the background color blend with the shirt.  Might be easier with a gray shirt.  With that being said, I have NO artistic abilities and therefore NO experience drawing/printing shirts.  My abilities would stop at taping/glueing a picture on a shirt.

So here's the deal. I spoke to Kat to see what we could come up with. Here are some options and we thought we could put it to the fixers to see what works best. Keep in mind that the background is the part of the shirt that cannot be used for copyright reasons.

1. I could illustrate the whole thing (background with memorial, flags and Sam's car) and Kat would p-shop in Sam's image and the text.
2. I could illustrate a version of the background only and Kat would p-shop in the actual image of Sam's car, Sam himself and the text.
3. Another type of background replaces the one Kat originally used that is not copyrighted.

What do you all think? Maybe we do a poll sticky?

Perhaps an alternative pic of Sam? Be great to get a similar uniformed picture without the phone. Just a thought.

Agreed.  With your skills, having the whole shirt done would be awesome.  I think your cost should be covered though but definitely have your sig/mark at the bottom.

Technically, yes. If this is going to become more than the one shirt, I would like to expose stangfix to a lower possibilty of any legal action.
Just sayin'. You never know where something like this could go and I want it just right.

The Marines stated that I could duplicate any pictures that they gave me.  I have actual pictures of the memorial service in FL this weekend that may give you what you are looking for, if you can add the car.  The picture would be the actual flags crossed with a M16, helmet and boots with some other things added like pics, ashes box, etc that were around the platform.  I may need some help getting the pics to you.  I have them in my posession. Dad
