Side decals and rear decal ideas?
« on: December, 22, 2011, 09:37:45 AM »
Id like to to put some side stripes soon, but would like to see what some of you have or ideas?  I'm kind of going with the Cobra scheme, I bought the Cobra snakes for behind the front wheels, but not installing them until the side stripes are on.  I kind of also like the strobe look, and was even thinking the stripes going higher, like the chargers? Just thinking here. Also I'm back to Cragars again vs the centerlines.  Though the centerlines were neat, they kind of messed up my left front fender and I kind of messed up the right rear fender opening from trying to bend the fender lips; (

Then on the rear, I don't know what to do! So any advice would be appreciated.  This rear photo is from a while ago and long since finished except for graphics.

I've always liked the black reverse C stripes like Sam's

Just seems like it needs something! Do you know that I have an occasional driver pull up beside my stang, like at a stop sign or while Trolling through a parking lot, and ask, "what kind of car is that? ".  :roll. Lol. So just like to get some identifying trademarks on it I suppose.  However I really like the Cobra stuff!

The Grabber stripe works for me. I think this would look on any Mustang but then I'm an odd one for originality. Means nothing to me.

IMHO, I think it looks clean the way it is, Sometimes "Less is More".....  but if I just had to do something more, It would probably be with something small, and simple like a "hand painted" Black pinstripe? However  this is Your car, so let Your conscience be your guide!

A black rocker stripe would look good. I think a C stripe would be to much since you already have the other stripes. Perhaps even black rocker molding?

I think since the stripes are close together you need a stripe on the side or something. I agree that a black reverse C like Sam's would really accent the natural lines well. The rear is fine as is. The Cragars are a better way to go as well. Centerlines are very 80's and didn't really transition well to street rides now. They always remind me of a drag car or an 80's prostock.
Even more simple would be a basic black rocker panel, black the side grill and put the Cobra badges and be done with it.

I think I would put a running horse and stripes emblem on the side and be done with it.

With the stripes over the top much of  any kind of stripes on the side would be "too much".

Or you could do lower GT rocker stripes. Or if you don't want/care if they're Mustang stripes look at these

I think the simple understated side stripes under the door would be awesome.  Not too busy and simple!

What about just painting the cobra badges black and call it a day. I also like the black rocker idea.

You could always use static cling decals to spruce things up when the urge hit. On the rockers, the normal style stripes would look good in black.

Hi! Finally got around to installing the graphics I had made a couple weeks ago, I'm very pleased with them! I found a nice guy on eBay and contacted him to make these for me, and use the ideas I had. He was very nice to work with! Now Wingnut is  just a little more completed! ; )

Yeah, the decals on the deck lid are a tad small, but I can always remove and replace as needed/ wanted.  I know it's not a cobra, but I made the stang what it is ; )

Looks great, I like the lower side stripe, especially since you do not have rocker molding.
