My 390 very late 67 car was stapled just lilke yours.  I cleaned up the holes a bit but the repro staples fit perfectly using the method you, Cmayna, and I talked about punching through the rubber with a big needle in a small pair of vice grips.  Bending the bottom was the hard part.

I am with the others, everything I have read is only 6 cylinders and Big Blocks got them.

It's settled then. I'm going to install one on my car and tell everybody it is an ultra-rare BB 65!

He must have it parked right next to Jamies.

Well I was considering installing on one Shag but since it never had one and I love the looks of not having that big ole rubber flapper up on the radiator and most importantly since the car doesn't overheat, think I'll just shelf the idea.  Still we all learned something about which cars typically came with them and which one didn't.

Class dismissed.

Yeah, but...we still don't know WHY some did and some didn't. I won't be able to sleep until this mystery is solved.

Man I'm glad the '69-'70 crowd doesn't have to worry and staying up all night and worrying about this S***.  :sarc
