9 days and counting---testing yesterday
« on: September, 07, 2011, 10:27:59 AM »
EKG, urine test, check arteries in arms (he talked about using these) check arteries in neck for blockage, nose swipe, drew blood, all lasting near 3 hours yestery for pre-surgery, also got a salve I have to apply inside my nose with a q-tip for 5 days prior to the 16th---I am going to be a nervous wreck before this is over.  Not looking for sympathy replies, just needed to vent--thanks.

If you're not looking for sympathy you came to the right place!

Seriously, Rod, I know it's easy to say but things will go just fine. Don't let the idle time get the best of you and get all worked up over it. You need to try and keep yourself busy and your mind occupied on other things these next few days. The NFL season kicks off tomorrow night! Enjoy some football this weekend.

Rod, it sounds like after this "tune-up" you'll be running like a 351 W. with new plugs.  :thu  :thu  :thu

Oh Rod, you're such a wimp.  You know darn well that you'll be out and about in no time right after the surgery.  Hell, I wouldn't even have enough time to fly out and drive your car before you'll be back at home.

They said 5-7 days in hosp--that alone will suck---the car needs driven so have at it---it drives pretty good since I put open trackers roller spring perches and lowering springs on the front--also 15 inch tires made a difference. As for the wimp part I will whine about that later. I have posted before my fixes--ruptured disc in lower back(micro surgery to fix) shoulder seperation from wreck(nine days intensive care ), both knees scoped, left arm broken in 5 places (3 different accidents)bariatric surgery, 2 hernias repaired, cracked tail bone, carpal tunnel surgery, appendicts (sp.?) removed, beneign tumor removed from chest(3 days hosp there)pnemonia twice, broken nose, 2 teeth knocked out, left thumb broken, knocked out and skin graft on hand from wreck in april. vasectomy, and I probably forgot some. I have had about enough surgery and fixes.

Be careful, they may deny any more warranty work.....

Good luck....that nose and a Q-tip sounds like fun..the surgery may be a relief from that.

What?  No ingrown toenail removals in your past?  No hemorrhoid surgery?

The upcoming surgery will be a piece of cake...don't sweat it.  C'mon...you're a Viking, remember?

actually I had a colonoscapy (sp.?) a few years ago----and to be 100% honest my biggest fear of this surgery is oxygen deprivation---my dad had a heart valve replaced in his fifties and was never the same afterward, they starved his brain for oxygen during surgery, it was like almost instant alzsheimers---I mentioned this to the surgeon and he had an answer of course.

More things to add to your worries:1) Surgical tools and sponges left behind after the procedure. 2) Sponge baths by Helga the 300 lb lezbo 3) Unnecessary enemas...

Health issues are a PIA. I hope things go well for you, and I'm rooting for a speedy recovery.

Only problem is I don't feel "stronger, faster, quicker"----I probably could draw social security disability!
