It's about a 6.5-hour drive.  Right now, I head down there once a month for about a week--usually go down early Thursday and come back on a Wednesday.  But, once I retire I'll be spending a lot more time down there.  The boat will be in dry storage and you just let them know what day you want it in the water and they put it in, and take it out and prep it when you're finished with the visit.  And it only costs a whopping $40 a month.  The airlines also are looking at restarting flights from Tucson to Hermosillo.  From there to San Carlos is about 75 miles.

My proposal from several years ago still stands.  That is, unless you drive and restore Mustangs and go fishing and scuba diving and play golf and drink beer and scotch and have tons of money in the bank and leave the toilet seat down and fart whenever you want.  Then I'll double my proposal.

I prefer tequila to scotch.   Does that still work for you?

Thanks!  One of my employees and I got up inside it today again and I found a whole bunch more cool things inside.  Plus I found the anchor locker on the bow.  I just wish I could find an owner's manual on ebay or somewhere, I'm working blind!

With the twin Chevy engines (yeah, I know), it is capable of doing 85 mph.

Hey, I LOVE my big block chevy - moves the boat along quite well. Only way to go in a performance boat unless you want to step up to Ilmors or the new Mercruiser 1350 hp turbos.

Very nice boat you got there, and I like the paint. We had a Fun Run this weekend on the lake here, and there was a 38 special from SC that came up. Ran slightly over 90. We had 3-4 chop, courtsey of Irene, so it was fun water to run on.

the liberal defines success by how many people he has managed to help through government action; the conservative defines success by how many people he has freed from need of such assistance.

Cool, I would have loved to watch that!  I've looked at several Youtube videos of the 38 Specials firing up and running.  The engines in mine are twin Mercruiser 550 hp each with only 20 hours on them.  My boat should move along nicely.  :)

It was fun, and the 38 Special sounded nasty. Not sure what he had in it as he skipped the after party, but I'd say he was pushing 650-700 each. Must've had shorties on it, as he was pushing a roostertail also.

Water was nice at 3-4 footers and very few boats out, so not the normal chop. Running with other performance boats and then kicking around at the after party was great. Here's a pic of us they got in a calm section (no whitecaps), followed by one of the $$ hardware there. The 40' Sonic Cat is a 160 mph boat, and the 36 Baja Outlaw next to it, 115. :yah

See, you're gonna miss that down in Mexico - I'm sure the big water in Az has lots of runs.

Nice boats!  There are some beauties down in San Carlos, but I haven't seen one like mine yet.

I suppose it is fitting in some respect that some who makes money by digging holes in dirt would then pick up a hobby in which they make a hole in the water and throw money into it.   :sarc
