T5 Transmission Parts?
« on: May, 16, 2011, 09:11:33 AM »
The boy and I tore into the T5 for his fastback this weekend and started the rebuild.  We have determined that the 2nd gear is damaged and should probably be replaced.  I am having a terribly time finding anyone in town that can supply the gear.  Does anyone have any idea where I might find the gear, and in short order?
building a 65 fastback from just a shell?  I must be crazy.

Thanks!

I googled and found several on ebay, but am cautious about that as well as I really don't want to wait a week to get the gear  Even though the car is still in paint jail, I would like to get this trans back in working order this week.

I will try the Hanlon people.

Try D&D, they have been around a long time and have a great rep:

I bought my t5 from D&D back in 98 and they were great to deal with then.  You can also try modern driveline for t5 parts.

Modern Driveline had it in stock.  I had previously bought my hydraulic clutch assembly from them, good people.  Only two days ground shipping to get it here!

Thanks for all the input.
