Gertrude will be delivered to the shop Friday to get the cowl replaced!

I never thought I would see this day happen. lol

Glad to hear.

Make note to the shop owner to make first his measurements before removing it so He can position the new one on the right place.

Very important as it will show when you will install the doors and fenders.

Ask me why I know this .

Great Kat! I'm can't wait until Friday. Finally decided against fixing what I have and am going to order one. Hopefully mine will be installed next weekend. We'll have to share a thread (somethin like, "Look at our cowls!").

Once the new cowl gets put on, the next step.. going back and cleaning up the engine bay and making it look nice. Then take off the front suspension and replace the bushings (they are all pretty much nasty and look like burnt squished marshmallows), clean up the control arms, do the shelby drop, and add roller perches that I've been dying to put on since Christmas.

Are you having that little rust issue above the windshield fixed along with the cowl? It would seem to be more suited to a professional repair rather than a DIY'er.

And it only cost me gas $ for them to tow Gert. I love having friends with tow trucks.

and at the shop.

They'll start working on the cowl next week. I *might* get lucky and the side cowl that I thought would need replaced, might not need to be. We're going to do the cowl first, see how much that breaks my husband's wallet, and then if it didn't hurt his wallet too bad, do the other stuff, like the apron and that section above the window.
