U-Joints....
« on: February, 18, 2009, 09:04:14 AM »
On a standard 8" rear end, what is the size of the U-Joint?  I'm fairly certain I'm running 1350 series u-joints on the 9" units in my 66 and the sons 68, but we're ordering a new driveshaft for that 64.5 car that I'm working on and the owner has swapped in an 8" rearend.  Is it 1310 or 1330 series?  I'm stuck at the office all day can't easily get a measurement on the pinion yokes cups.

TIA,
Dave

There's another designation of u-joints used even in 1966 that pre-dates the 1310/1330 version.  The NPD catalog is very good at providing all the stock configurations.

Yes, those would probably be the 1260's.  Crap.... I'm gonna have to crawl under the car to make 100% sure.

Not 100% of the time but most they measure 1 1/8".  Like said, there are different configs.

The rear u-joints have two different sizes, and one of them is 1 1/8".  I can't remember the other size...
