Score!!!!
« on: January, 22, 2011, 10:37:58 AM »
I called a car club member (aka the 'other' ford person in the club lol) this morning to see about some fenders. He's got some he's going to give me. He's going to clean them up, shoot some primer on them and drop them off at my house sometime this week. Along with a shop crane to pull the motor out, and an air compress and paint gun so I can paint the engine bay.  :yah

Nice!

Mel

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

We know you are up to something......lol

Good score for sure. Might want to get a look at the fenders before he primes them just to "be sure" all is good.

My first thought too...  Hiding some rust and bondo maybe?

A man can fail many times, but he isn't a failure until he gives up!

They are aftermarket parts he bought to use on his 66 but decided not to use them. He has a huge barn filled with nothing but Mustang parts and if I need something he has, it's mine. Just ask. These fenders are free so not like I'm losing out if they are in worse shape than the ones already on Gertrude.

That is good then. You may have to massage them a bit to get the lines to match up depending on their quality. Also can be used as patch panels if needed to repair yours. Several options.

Free parts are the best. Even if you do need to work on them that's a great score !

Haha.  :nut

He has a 66 mustang coupe himself.  He buys project mustangs, takes them down to every nut and bolt & sells at swap meets, so he has tons of stuff just sitting in his garage. Some of it is brand new never opened stuff he never used on his own mustang. Since he knows I have a '66, he keeps telling me to just bring a truck and go through his barn and get whatever I need.

I'll ask him if he has any grilles. I think he said he did.

LOL Doubt it. I think most of the mustang parts he has are 65/66 from when he was rebuilding his.
