Way to Go Joyce...
« on: January, 13, 2011, 04:22:45 PM »
I could only imagine, the Joyce Epperson in februarys Mustang monthly is our own Epperstang.  I think she should be recognized here for coordinating a mustang event to help a little girl in Utah who happens to be named Shelby.  The article can be read on page 58 in the most recent mag.  Way to go Joyce.   :thu

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

our own Epperstang.

Joyce is very active in the mustang community and has been for many years.  That she is featured (again) in a national mustang magazine comes as no big surprise.  While Joyce doesn't particularly care for me, I do respect the hell out of her!

Congrats Joyce!

Thank You for the acknowledgement.
I only wanted to help a baby whose family needed some support. All my little babies that I care for on the job (Pediatric RN) deserve assistance. But the name Shelby just drew me in for some reason. Besides her name, she is just damned cute and her mother is a sweetheart.
Jim Smart of Mustang Monthly came to my club's show in August when we presented Shelby's parents with funds raised via donation and raffle.
I knew he was going to write about the show, but didn't think he'd put emphasis on Shelby's story. I haven't yet seen the article, but have been told about it several times.

A continuation of the story is that we asked the Carroll Shelby Childrens Foundation to help us also. They generously sent a check for $4000!!!!! We were able to supplement that a little more and gave that check to Shelby's parents at our club Christmas party.

Shelby had a difficult time for a while but is now recovering from her transplant and growing and catching up on some developmental milestones.

It's been a rewarding year being able to combine my professional life and hobby.

DAVE! I am soooooooo sorry you think I don't like you. I have to really laugh because I recently had a PM exchange with another member here and accused him of not liking me. It was a misunderstanding. Dave, I DO LIKE YOU, I REALLY DO. You just intimidate the hell out of me. :wor

Again, thanks for the kind words and please keep Shelby and her family in your prayers.

J.
