I put the pertronix II electronic conversion with an accel coil. Should i be using the pertronix coil? its had some timing issues and i was wondering if the coil had something to do with it, compatability issues and whatnot...

I'd bet money that the answer is "no".  The coil shouldn't be part of the equation/problem.... unless it's bad.

Straight from the Pertronix website:

"Higher RPM performance is improved when used with the new Flame-Thrower®II super low resistance (0.6 ohms) 45,000 volt coil, however, it is compatible with any induction coil."
