Not so much, really: 1 cubic inch = 16.387064 cubic centimeters. So, 302 x 16.387064 = 4.948.  :coo
Sorry to hear about the tranny - I'm guessing the new engine's a moot point now, huh?

Maybe.  We'll see.  I did find another 302 on CL for $150.  The purpose of this thread was to see if $500 was crazy.  Having seen a 302 from an 80's Mustang for $150, seems like that is a better route, and I get to learn how to tear one down at the same time.
