94 Mustang Cobra 8.8" Rear for 65 Mustang?

I had someone offer me the rear axle from his 94 Cobra for what I think is a pretty good deal. Its complete with Ford Motorsports 3.73 gears and Moser axles. Everything is there but the rotors and calipers. I know I would have to weld spring perches to the housing but what else would be needed to fit under my 65? Main concern would be the width. Is that axle wider than my 65 8"? I just bought and painted my rims so if its wider, I'll just have to pass on it. If its the same or even a tad narrower it would be perfect. Since I plan on upgrading to disks in the rear anyways, this would save me a step and some money. I can get the whole set up for less than half what I paid for the rebuild 8" center chunk I just bought..... What do 8.8 usually go for and how are they in comparison to the 8"?

It is quite a bit wider than the 65-66 axle. Heck, the Fox 5.0 rear end is too wide, and the 94-98 unit is even wider than that.
