Roof Rail WeatherStrip channel "tape?"
« on: April, 19, 2010, 08:46:46 AM »
I had to pull back part of my headliner last night (which resulted in the headliner, many years old, disintegrating -- which I was afraid it'd do, not shocked) and in doing so, I removed the roof-rail weatherstrip channel.

The channel was held in place by a number of screws AND some sort of black double sided tape.  Anyone know where I can pick up more of this tape?  It was destroyed when I pulled the channel out, and I'd like to use it to put the channel back in place.

Thanks!

More googling tends to indicate that nobody really sells it, but that any closed-cell foam tape that's about the right width will work.

If anyone has a direct link to some just like they put on the mustang, that's great! If not I'll just see if I can find something at Lowes.

Dallas Mustang has some, but its listed to late model mustangs, essentially the same stuff. PN is 3781
Catalog lists it as late model

I used closed cell, self adhesive foam tape - the stuff for sticking down campershells to truck beds.  Just don't get too thick.

We used 3M double sided tape on mine, same stuff you'd use for emblems or what-not.
