For any of you vert guys (Like pj?) that have carpeted your trunk, did you attach carpeting to the top well liner at the front end of the trunk? If so, how? I was considering placing some heavy snaps on the carpet and snap studs on the top well and attach the carpet like a convertible boot. How extensive is the modification of  coupe trunk carpet set for a vert? Any other suggestions/photos would be welcome.

My Distinctive kit was made for a coupe, but can be made to work on a 'vert.  They may have since come out with a 'vert kit, but I doubt it.

My carpet laid out such that it ran up onto the seat back just enough to lay on that little 1" wide shelf back there.  You should find about five screw holes in that which I presume were for that cardboard separator that's shown in my Osborne manual.  My car never had that separator.  I bought a repop version and didn't like how it went in, so I left it out.  But, I put screws through the carpet into those holes.  It looks "factory".

For the well liner, I used spray adhesive and glued on some carpet to the back (visible) surface.  It looks really neat.  You can see it here:

The "carpet" doesn't match the trunk carpet exactly, but in real light it looks good.

One could spend alot more time carpeting their trunk than I did.  The Distinctive kit is decent and a huge time-saver.  With some effort, it can be made to look pretty good.

Thanks for the information, PJ. What did autozone call that generic carpet that you bought, so I know what to ask for?  Next time I am in your neck of the Piney woods, Let's go to Don Jose's for top shelf margaritas and some on those nachos that have everything in the kitchen on them. On me. ( Part of my mom's family was from Winona and Big Sandy)

It's actually sold as carpet.  It comes in plastic-wrapped rolls.  I noticed O'Reilly's also sells a similar product, but I did not inspect it in comparison.  It may have a heavier nap, so you have to look closely to see if it will do what you want.

If I were actually looking for carpet, I wouldn't have bought it.  But, it was perfect for what I was doing.

After the car show (see the events forum), most of us to go to Don Jose's for our celebratory supper.
