Read the book then Order #@$%%^*%!
« on: March, 22, 2010, 11:10:51 AM »
Wish I had thought of that sooner.

I was assembling the 302 for an engine swap this coming weekend. All was going well until I got to the rockers. Real nice rollers from Summit. But after adjusting they would slide back and forth on the valve stem. ????  This was weird, so out comes the new book I got on "How to rebuild your SB Ford". DAM there are different rockers depending on the heads. And I have the wrong rockers. Turns out I either need to replace the studs, so I can use pushrod guides or buy the rockers with the guide on the valve stem end.  :rp :rp :rp :scar :scar :$$$ CA-CHING  :$$$

So, UPS will be bringing a new set of rockers sometime this week. Guess the next engine gets the nice rollers.

My combo is so unique I had to make my own brackets.  Talk about a learning curve there.  Pain in the arse and $$$$$$$.

Same here Darreld. I had to flip the alternator upside down and make my own brackets. Luckily it was easy though.
