Info on bolt sizes...
« on: July, 22, 2009, 12:37:22 PM »
I need the length, diameter, and thread of the following bolts from a stock 289/non A/C setup.

1. The pivot bolt that goes into the head for the alternator.
I also need the size of the spacer used here.

2. The bolt that attaches the alternator slide bracket to the water pump.

3. The lower bolt for the upper alternator bracket. It also mounts into the water pump.

Reason, I need to buy them locally so I can convert mine back to a V-belt. I will have to make some spacers to line up the two bolts going into the water pump.

Pete:
I got all that info in the Osborne stuff, and then cross-reference the numbers to both the Ford and AMK part books.  It'll cost ya some waddling time, however...

Call me when I get back to PC.

I figured you had it but were out of town. I got the pulleys, another alt. and brackets from Don today. I will just make some spacers to fit the difference in the water pump bosses. I just have to take it apart to test fit everything.

When are you scheduled in here?

With luck, I should return Friday PM.  With even more luck, my luggage should return the following Wednesday.

The important thing is how much fun your luggage has on its trip around the country......
