I read other Mustang forums too, along with the F150 and Ranger hangouts.
I have a 66 coupe, got it from an acquaintance back in 2003 and found out it needed a lot of work. Tons of work. Years in fact. I did some of it, had a shop do more and finally started driving the car in about 2011.
I've said that we're never finished working on old cars, just run out of patience and/or money.
I still have more projects, like putting in late model seats, installing a AAW harness, installing the 3.55L third member in my garage, maybe some day upgrade my SROD 4-speed to a T5. By then it will probably be time to update the engine a little.
