What tires are you guys running?

Randy's already gone and sold StangFix to Emilio a couple of years ago...

Im in the decision making phase of my tire purchase. Ive found the rims I want with the specs that will fit my coupe and I have made a spread sheet for many tires brands/sizes. Looking for extreme summer performance tires or maximum performance tires. DOT rated. Right now Im favoring the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, Nitto Invo and Kumho Ecsta V720. Not expecting a lot of all season use so that aspect wont be a consideration. May take the coupe out for a mid-winter run to Cars n Coffee etc. Track days I will use a competition tire.
Called my hometown Discount Tire shop yesterday and ordered the Kumho V720 (215/45/17) for the fronts and Nitto NT05 (235/45/17) for the rear. They will be in the shop by the weekend and I will take the rims I have to get them mounted.

I use Nitto NT05 on my Mustang and have BFG Rival S on my Volvo. Both are really soft but the Rival S is the best out there right now in the 200 tw or higher tires.

Because I'm still running 14" ralley wheels on my Mustang and I wanted a RWL tire with an American manufacturer's name on them, I'm running BFG T/As. My opinion of the tire is pretty much "meh". They replaced a set of Firestone Firehawks that were really great tires, but Firestone stopped putting their name on the tires after the mess with Ford Exploders so they no longer met my desire for an American mfg's name on the sidewall. They just say "Firehawk Indy 500" now. Too bad because they were great tires. I had 15" RWL Goodyear Eagle GT IIs on my '69 Vette and they were good tires. I went through everything from GYs (stock) to summer Kumhos to Avons to Yokohamas and back to all weather Kumhos on my '00 Camaro Z28. I think the Yokohamas were probably the best set I had on that car and the original GYs were crap. My present '09 Corvette has a mixed set of Michelin Sport run flats on the front and the original Goodyear run flats on the rear. When I finally run through the GYs on the back I intend to switch to Michelin Sports. The back tires must have been a second set installed by the P.O. because they still have lots of tread and there's 37K on my Vette. I'm smoking them at every chance I get and there starting to show some wear. Pray for me.;)

Who needs tires anyway, run it on the rims!

I just bought BFG G-force Sport COMP-2 for the street and occasional open track. Next year I am looking to add Bridgestone RE-11 to the collection on a separate set of rims.
