Mach1Mark's '65 coupe restomod

Today, while waiting for some big ticket items to arrive in the mail I installed some plastic split loom between the trunk and the drivers door sill (to provide protection for the wiring).. Also installed the driver side rear seat quarter trim panel, permanently routed and attached the hidden antenna cable, test fit the back half of the new carpet. Needs some trimming.

Today I installed the radiator overflow tank. Polished stainless looks grreat next to the polished aluminum radiator. Also test fit and installed the aftermarket radio. Its a modern radio that looks like the OEM unit. Its from RetroSound. Speakers are waiting installation.

Got a late start today but managed to open up a hole in one of the new kick panels to install a speaker. I like the overall design of the kick panels bu they dont fit perfectly and will require some massaging to fit correctly.

Mark is the fit problem located in the area that the windlace goes behind (e.g. too narrow)? Looking good!!

Yes, John. I am going to have to trim the windlace at top of the kick panel as it wont fit inside the molded lip. And the bottom where the kick panel is supposed to fit under the door sill plate. Pics tomorrow.

Thanks Mark. I have a standard set (no speaker mount), that I was afraid of the same thing. Keep up the progress, looking good!!

After being on Deaths Doorstep for two weeks with Bronchitis and Pneumonia I'm finally starting to recover. The really good news is my Holman-Moody gauges arrived yesterday !!

Very cool!
Thanks, Mark !! I am very excited to finally get these gauges, Ive wanted them since I bought my H-M aluminum valve covers last year.
Ive got to get my Mustang on the street soon, its becoming more difficult each day to see him sitting in my garage and not being able to drive him.

Today, test fit new gauges in gauge bezel. Had to open up the four smaller holes as they wouldnt allow the gauges to fully seat. Test fit gauge package into the dash. This will be removed when the wiring is installed. Also, trimmed part of each kick panel for proper installation. trimmed the windlace on each side to fit under the kick panel.

Back on task today after an extended illness. Cut hole in passenger side kick panel, mounted speaker and grill, test fit in place.

Thanks, y'all. I suffered from bronchitis and pneumonia. I've never been that sick in my life. I understand how people die from it.

I ordered my pulley set for the front of my motor today. Went with CVF Racing based on Monkeystash (Ryan) recommendation. Also ordered my induction system today from Price Motorsport. Should have it next week.

Time frame has slipped (again). Was thinking mid to late April. Now maybe May or June.

Holy crap Mark! I know ya said you had an extended illness, but man did you downplay it! Glad you're feeling better!! A new co-worker that just moved here from FL came down with the same thing at the end of Jan. He was in intensive care for almost 2 weeks and an additional 2 weeks in the hospital. I went to pick him up and almost didn't recognize him. He looked like death warmed over!

Glad you're on the mend and I'm sure you don't worry too much already, but don't fret too much about those time frames slipping. Hell, mine slipped from 3 years ago, to 2 years ago, to- "it'll be done when it's done"! Looking really great and the finish line appears in sight!

CVF Racing pulleys/brackets arrived yesterday. I unpacked them, felt like Christmas. So many small boxes ! Had to make a trip to the local hardware store and buy some correct length bolts. Began test fitting pulleys and brackets etc., had to switch back to the Flowkooler water pump as the Ford Racing water pump is too short. Will try and fit the electric fan in FRONT of the radiator. A/C pump bracket may be too low to install the pump (cast aluminum valve covers are tall).

Love the CVF pulleys. The owner worked with me to match a set to the engine parts I used. Just sent him a scaled drawing.
