Maybe he uses it to heat up water for his coffee in the morning. :confused:

When he gets bored, he can play tiddly winks on his hood!

Probably has a scoop cut-out in the hood, but no scoop, so the upside down trash can lid prevents water from getting in. Notice how the front of the hood is bowed up as if in an accident?
 
Someone stole his Thunderbolt scoop and left a hole for the rubbish bin lid to cover when parked.
 
It's obvious from the pictures that the owner is a true craftsman, the alignment of the body panels and the finish of the paint shows he takes great pride in his workmanship.
 
I was noticing those rear wheels.....pretty deep reversed rim for a stock axle. Maybe the original scoop blew off.
 
Good thing he's got it on there upside down. Otherwise people might mistake it for a trash receptacle. Notice the excellent alignment between the hood and the cowl. Looks like he might have received a little tap in the front end.
