Cruise for a Cause - September 13, 2015

For those of you I haven't already spoken to:

Thought I would run the flag up the pole for the show in my neighborhood. As I probably mentioned previously, this is the 8th annual fundraiser for the local Second Harvest Food Bank organized by the guys at our local Italian Deli. Structurally it is more like a cruise in as there is no registration, no formal start time or end time, no judging, and no awards. Bring a few cans of food to donate to the Food Bank and you're good to go. It's come and go as you please using the street parking as well as the many parking lots along Lincoln Avenue, (the main drag in Willow Glen) that are typically empty on Sundays. Last year there were about 400 cars that showed up that include everything from Rat Rods to Hot Rods to Muscle and Pony cars from the 40's on up. Lots of nice cars to see and things to do.

Historically, the organizers have their club buddies park along the street taking up all the public parking spaces and then start filling the lots. Last year we got there around 7:30, parked the car in the lot behind the Deli, and walked down the street for breakfast at Bill's, a landmark local spot that serves up a solid breakfast menu. Depending upon interest, we may do the same this year. If an eta of 7:30 a.m. is too brutal for everyone, we can always come in later and park a little farther from the Deli.

Let me know if you are interested in attending and with advance notice (try and decide by September 5th), I can plan something a little extra.

Regards, Jeff

P.S. Gullery already said he's coming, but don't let that stop you !!
