is your fav? Im to the point where I need to buy one. Been looking at the Steeda tri-ax. Opinions? Preferences? Hurry !! Reply now so I can spend !!!

Second on the Pro. I am just about ready now to start trying out shift levers/arms. Finished modding my seat rails and bolted the drivers seat in Monday before I flew out for the week. Now that I'm back I can measure up what will fit me best. I can see having to modify something before I'm done.

I used a simple $125 MAC T5 shifter. I can't remember if the pivot is raised compared to stock to give a shorter throw, but the internals are better than the old Hurst short throw shifter. The only thing that made the Hurst short throw is the short handle. Their cast aluminum housing wears out over time. The Tri Ax claims the revised the geometry for shorter throw. My opinion is that just about anything with shift stops is an improvement over stock. I've had no issues with the MAC shifter... I'd buy another.

These types of shifters simply raise the pivot point to increase the travel distance in the shifter to shorten that of the actual shift arm of the driver. Also features adjustable stops to allow hard shifts without damaging things. Heavy springs in the shifter also make it virtually impossible to miss third. Something that is pretty easy on any Tremec I have ever driven.

The Pro 5.0 is the clear favorite of the 5.0 racing crowd.
