New Mustangs suspension

A friend stopped by this morning to take me for a ride in his 2015 Mustang GT, Great car with plenty of power and all the bells and whistles> I have a question, I know the 2015 Stangs went to a independent rear instead of the old solid rear axle. The car seems to make a shutter sound when first accelerating especially on turns, This happens on easy or hard acceleration. Manual tranny. Anyone have any experience with this? Seems strange to me.

Does he have ( the car I mean ) some kind of traction lock in the rear diff.??

He does have a traction control button he can turn on and off, the car makes this rumble, shutter in both modes. Almost feels like a Detroit locker when accelerating on a turn, very weird. He just picked the car up on Thursday, I told him to take it back to the dealer and let them deal with it.

So , that traction control setup is mounted afterwards.
In that case , I would contact the installer of this immediately.
Some units do make noise in turns.

It should have a factory limited slip rear end. These use an additive to keep down the chattering on corners. I would tell him to take it in and have it checked for sure.

Car has only about 100 miles on since he took delivery, I suggested he take it back to the dealer he purchased it from

He should read the manual first to be better informed.
Maybe it could do this the first 500 mls.
Kind of break in .
Maybe.
Don't know alot about american cars.:(:(

Noises have a way of fooling you. Could be completely unrelated to the differential. Best course of action is getting a qualified tech in the car for a ride along so the noise can be reproduced for their ear. And then reporting back here so we all know what was happening!

On/off traction control button is factory, just some fancy computer programing that limits engine power in slippery situations. Does not control the rear diff at all, as you noted the shudder occurs with traction control both on and off. I concur that a trip to the dealer would be advisable, no reason to chance it on such a new car. Let Ford worry about it.
