What did you get done on your Stang today????

Installed my power steering pump and A/C bracket. Been screwing with this bracket setup for months.

After final break-in last weekend, I took the motor off the run stand and back to the engine stand to prep for paint. Need to get the carb pad milled 1/4" on the intake then reassemble before paint.

Went back down to the shop and started repairing the dents on a used set of headers I picked up.
Both sides looked like this....

After about 20 mins, I got one side about wrapped up.

Hope to do the other side tomorrow.

Good progress, haven't been able to do anything to mine. Shoot it's been so long I can't remember the last time I turned some wrenches on it. :(

From infinity and beyond.

Never argue with a Moron, they'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

What do you use to pop that out from the inside? Looks a hell of a lot better now!

Over the weekend I finally got some headway on my engine. Pulled and cleaned some parts and ordered a bunch more from Summit. Most are needed, some are "while I'm at it."

I seal them up with an old tube and vise grips, put about 50-60PSI in them and heat them with a torch.

That is a fantastic innovative approach... I have a mandrel bent tail pipe section with a big dent in it that I wanted to re-use... I'm going to try your method out on that. Great idea!!!

My car was getting tuned on the dyno today and the clutch went dead. Something in the hydrauics went out. I don't know yet if it is as simple as the hose or if it is a mc or slave cylinder. I am a bit disgusted but at least it should be an easy fix. The master cylinder has me the most concerned. I got it before the company went out of business in 2008ish time frame and hope that is not the problem. Finding a replacement may be difficult if it can't be rebuilt. I'll see soon enough. They did say that it looks like it will be putiting out close to 14 lbs of boost. I hope that equates to a little over 600 at the wheels.

I now lost my place in line at the tuner while repairs are made and it will be a couple weeks before it goes back on the rollers. :(
It looks like the clutch problem was an easy fix. The Bleeder screw somehow backed out and pissed all the fluid out. I am back in business. Should be able to go back on the rollers soon due to the easy fix and back home to me by the end of the week.

Smart idea, but I didn't see in the pictures how you applied pressure to the pipes after vice-gripping them down. Is that a valve on the collector side in the center of the pipe?

I cant take all the credit for it, I learned watching it done by an exhaust company at a pro motocross race. I made the end caps for my bike years ago and fixed many bike pipes. Just adapted the fitting to the headers.

I wonder if applying a vacuum to the headers would help one to dent them so that clutch mechanical parts would fit...

Took the 66 out of hibernation and went for a drive. Man, just when you think of selling thee cars, one road trip knocks that right outta yer head!

Well I touched the mustang today for the first time in quite a while.. Pulled the cover and got her up on jack stands. Took the passenger side wheels of and started pulling the fuel lines I was running to start over. I am off this week and hoping to redo them.
