It's that time of year again. Stangfix Fantasy Football League

ATTENTION ALL LEAGUE MANAGERS

The NFL is now entering the "bye week" phase of the season. Starting this week, you need to manage your teams proactively to make sure you don't have players listed as active on your roster if their team is on the "bye". Hopefully you anticipated this and have your bench depth allocated appropriately. If not, the waiver wire or trading block are your other options.

DO NOT LEAVE OPEN SLOTS ON YOUR ROSTER.

OK, managers. Question for all. Are you guys reading the "League Manager's Note" on the front page of the ESPN site when you log in to the Stangfix League? Each week I am posting a new one detailing some facet of the game or such. A couple weeks ago I wrote about setting up your trading blocks in the event anyone wanted to make a trade. This week I highlighted the entry into bye week season. In weeks to come, as records are being established, I will begin to perhaps detail key match-ups for the week. Analyze team standings and paint the picture of how teams look for the playoff run, etc.
I also am posting a new video each week this season. So far I have found a couple that I thought were pretty funny based on fantasy football.

So my real question. Are you guys reading this stuff? Finding the video additions a nice little add on? Or am I wasting my time?

Also, as I have pointed out before, there are lots of ways to talk smack and chat all week between the games and even live during (Fantasycast). On the same front page as the League Manager's Note you can also start and participate in league wide discussion. Off to the right of the video I post is a box that has a place to start or join message conversations. I say it every year and have already this season. Get involved in the chatter! Dale, Tim and I seem to be the only regular voices that appear. Steve makes it once and a while, too. The rest of you guys are SILENT. Come on. Talk some smack. Complain about your team. Brag about your team. It adds a whole new element to the game when you and your weekly opponent trade barbs throughout the day on Fantasycast smack boards.

OK. I added another feature to the league front page. Since we all love polls so much there is now going to be a weekly poll. First one is up now. Let your voice be heard.

It is off to the right side in the middle of the page.

Other than the subject matter...I like it.

Oh the latest video ROCKS. So easy to see him as Terry. :p :p :p :p :p

I had a good week, and I am enjoying it while it lasts.

Weekly update to the team page is done. A day late and I apologize. Very hectic week at work. New poll this week. Let's see if we can get more managers to cast a vote!

So I spent quite a bit of time on the road lately and used some of the down time to examine the "numbers" in the fantasy league year to date. I put all the scores and match-up data into Excel and came away with some very interesting perspectives. You can't always judge a team by their win/loss record.

I did a write up of some of the more interesting stuff in the Manager's Note this week. If I could figure out how to post the summary spreadsheet I would but it seems to be beyond my skills.:(

Just a reminder that there are some who do not have all their starters in play. We have 6 byes this week and let's not forget injuries.

Go Steelers!

So who has yet to make their Picks for Pick'em? Thursday nite football! And we have 2 managers without a full roster. Again Thursday nite Football!

I cannot emphasis enough how important this weeks games are to most everyone in the league. Whether your team has done well and is in contention or not PLEASE do the very best you can to field a winning team. Over half the league is dependent on these games to determine who makes the top round of playoffs and contends for the title or falls to the second tier.

STEVE, you are matched-up with young master Dave. The outcome of this match-up affects virtually every other team. Lots of guys fates rest in your hands. If you beat Dave all kinds of scenarios can play out. If he wins, many hopes are dashed. Don't let 'em down. You've got some guys on the bench that might belong in your starting line up or maybe there is a guy or two on the waiver wire you can nab to strengthen your team. Check it out and get your team ready.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
