Is Teflon tape used on the end that screws in?

Also, Napa Parts online shows one that says it has a white stripe. Is this correct for a 65 C4?

No. IIRC the fitting is NPT (national pipe thread) which is tapered for sealing purposes. Besides, teflon tape is not petroleum-resistant.

Teflon tape is not used as a sealant, it's used as a lubricant so you can tighten the fitting more.
